SDPI Wins One More Seat in Rajasthan
Jaipur: Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has won one more seat in Bundi Nagara Palika election in Rajasthan, where currently Panchayat elections are underway in different phases. Noor Muhammed who contested from 2nd ward got the majority of 195 votes. Out of total 1010, he got 543 votes. Defeated Congress candidate Kesara got only 350 votes.
Among nine other wards in which SDPI contested, its candidates got second spot in 8 wards. It lost for thin margins in most of the seats.
Earlier this year SDPI candidate Mohammad Haneef had been elected as the Sarpanch of the Chann Panchayat in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan.
And party candidate Mohammed Rizwan Khan was elected as the Upsarpanch (vice president) of the Baldara Gram Panchayat in Baral district.
