Manglore: Social Democratic Party of India Karnataka State Committee announces , 474 of it's candidates are in fray to contest Gram Panchayath election in 244 wards of 118 Gram panchayaths in Karnataka.
Election would be held in this month. Several political parties had been confounded with SDPI contesting in election and were threatening and pressuring on SDPI candidates to withdraw from the fray, he added.
The party, which was formed to preserve the values of Indian constitution and democracy, says that it will protect the interest of Muslims, Daliths and other deprived communities of the society.
The SDPI was established in New Delhi last year and opened its account in a Gram Panchayath election in Rajasthan. The SDPI candidate Mohammad Haneef had been elected as the Sarpanch of the Chann Panchayat in Sawai Madhopur district.
Recently in sulya of Karnataka, Congress party had aligned with Bharathiya Janatha Party to defeat SDPI in APMC election. SDPI had lost this contest for one vote.
