Jana Kerala Yathra Concludes with Mass Rally
Thousands of enthusiastic participants marched through the main roads of the city, heralding a new dawn of hope and inspiration in the political empowerment of backward, minority sections of the society. The slogans which were raised in the rally were clear indicators of the ideals the party stands for.
Jana Kerala Yathra which was flagged of on 2nd of this month at Hosangadi, Kasarkode covered all the 14 districts of the state, enjoying warm welcome form the different sections of the society. The rally was led by Adv. K P Muhammad Shareef (state president of SDPI), P K Gopinath, (Vice president, SDPI), M K Manoj Kumar, P Abdul Majeed Faizee, P K Radha etc. After that a grand public meeting was held at Dr. Ambedkar Nagar. E Abubacker, national president of the party inaugurated the program. Former Pondichery MLA M Elangovan was the chief guest. State president Adv. K P Muhammad Shareef chaired the function. M K Manoj Kumar, P Abdul Majeed Faizee, P K Radha, Moovattupuzha Ashraf Moulavi, V T Ikramul Haq (SDPI), P Abdul Hameed (State General Secretary, Popular Front of India), M M Kaber, P K Sukumaran (Samajwadi Party), Gilbert Rodrigo (Advisor, Tamilnadu-Pondichery Fisher People Federation), Laha Gopalan (Leader, Plachimada Land Agitation), S Kuttappan Chettiyar, Sree Raman Koyyon (Dlit Maha Sabha), Chndra Sekharan (V.S.D.P), Das K Varkala (DHRM), Sree Mandiram Prathapan (Deseeya Janavedi), S Prakash Menon (Highway Action Committee) spoke on the occasion.
The Yathra leaders including its captain K Manoj Kumar, vice captain Muvattupuzha Ashraf Moulavi have etched out a special place in the hearts of the Kerala society.
Assign lands for landless, Put an end to atrocities against Dalits and Adivasis, Stop police terror against minorities, Restore reservation policy in the constitution, Take action on Mishra Commission report are the main slogans being raised in the Jana Kerala Yathra.
