Thiruvananthapuram: Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) will face the elections on its own and prove its mettle, said national president E Aboobacker. He was inaugurating grand public meeting here held as part of the conclusion of Jana Kerala Yathra organized by SDPI.

SDPI can prove its presence without affiliating either to UDF or LDF. We will show our might within short span of time. Our party will not be allowed to be sandwiched by these two fronts. During the last by elections we have shown it with the votes we could gather- he said.

SDPI has its own vote bank in most of the constituencies, by which the election result can be determined. The popularity and reception the Jana Kerala Yathra got during its 24 day journey are amble evidence for the support the party has.

For the uplift of backward communities the smaller parties should join together with SDPI in its efforts to avail social justice- he added.
