    Kochi: The victory of SDPI candidate in Bangalore corporation election was people’s victory, said Prof. Nazni Beegum, who had won as party candidate from Padrayanapura constituency in BBMP election, 2010. She was delivering key note address in reception accorded to SDPI’s Jana Kerala Yathra in Sahodaran Ayyappan Nagar at Aluva.
    My rival candidates contested the election in the constituency spending three crore rupees to bribe the voters and they used their muscle power to intimidate them. But people’s will power and disciplined works of SDPI cadres helped me to win the seat, she said.
    The Bangalore victory shows us that if we stand along with people, finding solutions for their grievances, we will have every chance to win the their hearts and win the elections- she added.
    She alleged that the central and state governments are ignoring farmers. If this situation persists, we will have to starve to death within short period of time, she said.

    Jana Kerala Yathra got rousing receptions at various places in Ernakulam district today.
    Hundreds of people waited in each reception points to welcome the Yathra.
