SDPI candidate elected as Vice President in Jokatte Gram Panchayath
Manglore: Social Democratic Party of India and Congress have made alliance in an election, held for president and vice president posts, in Jokatte Gram Panchayath on Tuesday.
The parties were strong rivalries in the Gram Panchayath Election, held recently. In total 16 places Congress had won 7 seats while BJP and SDPI 6 and 3 seats respectively
Local leaders of Congress and BJP had talks with SDPI, but the party ultimately agreed to ally with Congress. Haji.B.S.Sharif from Congress elected as President, while B.S hekunhi of SDPI elected for vice president.
BJP candidates Jayanth Salyan and Madhava Suvarna were contested for President and vice president posts.
