The Social Democratic Party of India, (SDPI), has been shaken to the core at the news of attack on a flotilla in international waters carrying peace activists and humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza by the Israeli forces. It has demanded that the Indian Government should come out openly to the aid of helpless Palestinian people while snapping diplomatic relations

The SDPI President, E Aboobakker, in a strongly worded statement said that the dastardly attack should not only be condemned in most vehement terms but also some strong-arm action should be taken against the rogue state of Israel by the world community to desist it from repeating such barbaric and inhuman acts of aggression.

Aboobakker said as a first step the governments of the world should recall their envoys from Israel forthwith. Just condemning the incident will have no bearing on Israel. The United Nations and the International Court of Justice should take cognizance of this gory incident and undertake appropriate actions to rein-in the Zionist state.
Social Democratic Party of India is deeply anguished at the Indian Government’s belated routine response over Israel’s role in the flotilla attack. The Government of India should immediately withdraw from all civil and military cooperative ventures with Israel, SDPI President pleaded. It is a disgrace for the People of India that our nation is the closest friend of the damned country.

It may be pointed out here that the Flotilla was carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, which is under relentless and inhuman siege for almost three years by the Israeli forces. Seven hundred human rights activists, parliamentarians and many prominent personalities from nearly 50 nationalities were on board when it was illegally attacked killing 20 people and injuring about 50 people. Also 450 activists from different countries were taken into custody by Israel from the captured ships. The siege by Israel is in defiance of the world community as defined by the United Nations Security Resolution No. 1860.
